NYC SCA Mentor Program CM Services – Construction Management & Mentoring Services, STV/Bradford, JV

CARA provided mentoring services through SCA’s Mentoring Program, Scope A Team, and Business Development Division (BDD), Scope B Team. The firm’s services included day-to-day assessments of the weaknesses and strengths of contractors, specialized training, coaching and technical support. Ms. Ramirez provided ongoing training to participating contractors in the areas of project management, project closeout, contract administration and overall SCA policies and procedures. In addition, CARA CM provided staff to support the Program Manager and field office staff. Staff tracked progress through weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reporting systems developed on behalf of the program manager and provided to SCA Scope A Team.

CARA closely monitors contractors’ progress to ensure they complete projects on time and safely. In particular, staff monitors projects closely and assist contractors achieve 95% completion (Substantial Completion), a significant milestone established by SCA. CARA was instrumental and designing the official Glossary of Terms provided to mentor contractors to guide them in the process of understanding SCA terminologies critical to their successful execution of contract requirements. In addition, we engage contractors as our staff works closely with SCA’s staff and design consultants to resolve discrepancies between the technical specifications and the actual scope of work.

From 2007 onwards, CARA has successfully closed and transferred close to 200 projects under the Mentor Program.
