NYC SCA Mentor Program – Construction Management Services: Manhattan & Bronx Schools

CARA mentored contractors on substantial completion, final closeout requirements, building codes requirements, document control, regulatory and administrative close out, project monitoring construction project management sequencing and construction safety management. CARA worked closely with architects and engineers, and often advocated for contractors by contacting manufacturers and suppliers directly during the life of the projects to ensure guarantees and warranties were provided and consistent with the project specifications. Staff prepared and submitted to the client Substantial Completion packages when projects reach 95% completion; prepared and submitted to the client Final Completion packages; reviewed bid packages before selecting prospective contractors; prepared requests for contracts (RFC’s) during contract selection and submitted to the client; processed wrap-up insurances (SCA OCIP) for new contractors; processed permit applications for new projects.
